LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

1.Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.

2.To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.

3.To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.

4.Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to our Service Department or to an authorized service representative.

5.Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

ELECTRIC CORD

An extension cord may be used with care; however, the marked electrical rating shall be at least as great as the electrical rating of this appliance. The extension cord should not be allowed to drape over the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

HOW TO USE

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into a standard electrical outlet.

BEFORE USING GRILL:

Carefully unpack grill and remove all packaging materials from carton.

Wipe surface of grill with a clean, damp cloth or sponge, then dry. This will remove any packaging dust.

Place grill on a flat, dry surface or sturdy table, away from any hot surfaces or other heating appliance. Do not use under kitchen cabinets.

Always leave unit unplugged when not in use. When using, do not plug it into the same outlet or use it on the same circuit with other appliances. A circuit overload could occur.

Never use charcoal or any other combustible fuel with this appliance.

Keep all combustible material such as paper, cardboard or fabric at least three feet away from grill. Do not use in wet or moist locations. Do not use near a sink or laundry area.

When grill is used for the first time, it is normal for the heating element to give off a small amount of smoke and odor.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY TIPS

Never touch the metallic parts of unit (body or grill plate) while the appliance is operating, as these can become very hot.

To prevent risk of burns, do not move the appliance while it is in operation.

Never place appliance on a delicate surface, such as a tablecloth or a piece of furniture, etc.

Do not place anything between the grill plate and the food (i.e., a dish, aluminum foil, etc.).

Do not leave appliance unattended while in use.

TO USE:

1.Assemble grill as follows: Slide drip tray under heating element. Place non-stick grill plate atop base.

2.Place assembled grill on a flat, stable surface, such as a counter or tabletop, where it will not be obstructed and cannot fall.

3.Unwind cord completely before plugging it into wall outlet. If an extension cord is being used, secure it safely so that it cannot be pulled on or tripped over.

4.Plug in and set Low/Off/High switch to High. Allow grill to preheat for 10-15 minutes.

5.Place food on grill plate and allow it to cook. (Switch to Low heat, if desired for type of food being cooked.)

6.While cooking, use tongs or spatula to avoid piercing and releasing flavorful juices in items that are cooking. To prevent damage to non-stick surface of grill plate, avoid using metal utensils whenever possible.

7.KEEP-WARM FEATURE: If cooking large quantities of food, already cooked portions may be kept warm by placing them on the keep-warm sections located at the sides of the grill plate. Use a non-metal utensil to set them aside, so that center portion of grill plate can be used for cooking. If cooking meat, be careful not to allow any juices from uncooked portions to drip on pieces already cooked.

8.When food has finished cooking, switch grill off and unplug. Serve food immediately.

COOKING SUGGESTIONS

When cooking meats, never place cooked meat on same platter used to hold raw meat unless platter has been washed.

Poultry and kabobs should be turned often to allow for even browning and thorough cooking, especially in the case of chicken.

Make sure all meats and fish are completely cooked before removing from grill.

Tender meat cuts, such as sirloin and tenderloin, are generally more suitable for grilling than less-tender cuts, such as round or rump.

Many less tender meat cuts can be grilled successfully, especially when they have been marinated to tenderize the meat and enhance its flavor.

Never cut foods on the grill plate.

When grilling meats, bear in mind that flat, thin or boneless cuts grill best. The same rule should be followed when grilling vegetables - sliced tomatoes or eggplant will grill more easily than corn on the cob.

HELPFUL HINTS

When cooking, keep all necessary ingredients conveniently at hand so food can be constantly monitored. Grill should never be left unattended while it is operating.

Never use metal utensils in cooking, as they could damage the non-stick surface.

Do not leave food on the grill after it has finished cooking.

If a large amount of food is to be cooked, divide it into smaller quantities that can be reasonably accommodated by the grill at one time. Grill each quantity separately, one after the other, until all food has been cooked. Do not overload the grill with food, as this will create smoke and reduce grilling efficiency.
