SAFETY SUMMARY

The following recommendations are made for the safe operation of the PEDIATRIC WALKER - Sportrunner™:

GENERAL WARNING

DO NOT install or use this equipment without first reading and understanding these instructions. If you are unable to understand the Warnings, Cautions or Instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel before attempting to install this equipment - otherwise, injury or damage may occur.

Each individual should always consult with their physician or therapist to determine proper adjustment and usage.

STABILITY WARNINGS

Check to make sure crutch tips and wheels are not ripped, worn or missing. Replace BEFORE using walker.

DO NOT use crutch tips on front wheel inserts.

Short steps should be taken to assure weight is distributed evenly and directly over walker legs. These precautions will prevent uncontrollable movement of walker when pulling or pushing.

A physical/occupational therapist should assist in the placement and positioning of the hand grips for maximum support.

Care should be taken to ensure that ALL hand and height adjustments are secure, and that wheels and moving objects are in good working order before using this or any mobility aid.

All wheels MUST be in contact with the floor at ALL TIMES during use. This will ensure the walker is properly balanced.

Invacare Walkers can provide ambulatory assistance for an individual weighing up to 65 lbs. (29.48 kg.). Invacare Walkers are designed to provide support, increased stability and assistance to an individual while walking.

A physical/occupational therapist should assist in determining the appro- priate orientation of the walker (pulling or pushing) for the user.

Height adjustment MUST be checked frequently with the assistance of a physical/occupational therapist to maintain proper height for the user.
