TAD Operation

n TAD Operation

This section describes TAD operation at the base, but you can also operate the TAD using the handset or another phone while you’re away from home (see “Using Remote Commands” on Page 39).

SETTING THE TAD TO ANSWER CALLS

To set the TAD to answer

ON/OFF

calls, press ON/OFF. The TAD

announces “The machine is

on” and the number of record-

ed messages appears.

To set the TAD to not answer calls, press ON/OFF. The TAD announces “The machine is off” and beeps twice.

INCOMING MESSAGE RECORDING

When the TAD is set to answer calls using Announcement A or B, it plays the announcement, then beeps. The caller can then record a message up to 3 minutes long.

The TAD is preset to record messages in mailbox 1, but callers can record to a specific mailbox by pressing its number (1–4) after the outgoing message.

Note: When the TAD is set to announce-only, a caller can still leave a message by pressing # then the number for the desired mailbox. This is handy for emergency or unexpected calls.
