Getting Started

Move the antenna to its optimal position (pointing straight up to the sky) until it sets into one of three positions. You cannot make or receive a satellite call with the Globalstar satellite antenna stored. The following shows right and wrong antenna positions when making satellite calls:

Position yourself outdoors so that you can see the whole sky to prevent dropped calls. If a call is dropped, a fade alert sounds if that feature is turned on (see Fade, page 46). For best performance, move away from tall obstacles such as buildings or trees. If you can see the whole sky, the satellites will have a clear view of you and the phone. The phone will not operate inside a building or a vehicle unless you are using the car kit.

Note

You can make cellular calls in all of the following locations.
