Additional features

Media Gateway 1000B

A Media Gateway 1000B (MG 1000B) IP Audio Conference Phone can operate in Normal or Local mode.

Normal Mode

The IP Audio Conference Phone registers with the main office and receives telephone services from the main office. At any time during Normal Mode, you can check local mode functionality (make and receive calls) by enabling Local Mode and returning to Normal Mode. After testing, you can return to Normal Mode by using the Resume Normal Mode command or by waiting for ten minutes.

Local Mode

If the WAN connection is lost, the IP Audio Conference Phone loses communication with the main office Terminal Proxy Server (TPS). The IP Audio Conference Phone then registers with the MG 1000B and receives telephone services from the branch office. When in Local Mode, the IP Audio Conference Phone displays "LOCAL MODE".

Test Local Mode

Use Test Local Mode to check local mode functionality (make and receive telephone calls). Test Local Mode is useful when provisioning has changed for an IP Audio Conference Phone at a MG 1000B Controller.

1. Press the Services key.

2.Press the Navigation keys to scroll and highlight Test Local Mode.
