About Caller Identification

This product is designed to store and display information about incoming telephone calls. It must be used with Caller Identification service provided by your local telephone company; there is a fee for this service, and it may not be available in all areas.

This product can provide information only if both you and the caller are in areas offering Caller Identification service, and if both telephone companies use compatible equipment.

When you use this product with Caller ID service, you can see who’s calling before you answer the phone. The unit keeps a record of the names and numbers of the last 70 calls, whether you answer the phone or not. Each call is numbered in the call history, with older calls having lower numbers.

When the first call is received, the current time and date are set automatically (you cannot set them), and are reset each time a new call comes in.

About Home Area Code and

Local Area Codes

Always program your home area code and, if you need them, up to four local area codes. Make sure you read and follow all the directions in “Set Home Area Code” and “Set Local Area Codes” on pages 7 and 8. Programming these area codes will change how numbers are displayed in the call history, and will allow for correct operation of the Display Dial feature.
