Setting the Key Beep

 

Your MHS450 confirms a key press by

 

KEY BEEP

sounding a short single or double beep

 

On

 

Off

(default). You can disable this sound.

 

 

Exit

1. From the RADIO MENU screen,

 

 

 

 

 

press ▲ or ▼ to highlight the KEY BEEP option.

Press ENTER to select it.

 

.Press ▲ or ▼ to select On or Off or Exit . Press ENTER to save your selection. The display returns to the RADIO MENU screen.

Setting the Key Lock

To prevent keys from being accidentally operated, set the Key Lock. Hold down LIGHT/LOCK for 2-seconds. KEYPAD

LOCKED appears on the display bottom for 3-seconds then returns to

the standard screen. Locked remains next to the channel number to remind you that the locked option is enabled.

During Key Lock mode, you can adjust only the following controls:

PTT switch

Light/Lock key

Volume

Squelch

1/2.5/5W (Only while pressing and holding PTT.) If any other control is used, an error tone sounds.

To disable the keypad lock, press and hold LIGHT/LOCK for about 2-seconds or turn power off then on. KEYPAD UNLOCKED appears on the display using LIGHT/LOCK. Note: if the radio receives either a weather alert or decodes a severe weather S.A.M.E. code transmission, the keypad

automatically unlocks.
