The pause button counts as one digit. Pressing redial/p on the handset, more than once increases the length of pause between numbers.

ADJUSTING VOLUME DURING A CALL
Press the vol ▲ or ▼ key on the handset to increase or decrease volume while on a call. Volume will return to preset level when you hang up.
STORING A PHONE NUMBER IN MEMORY
1)Remove the handset from the base.
2)Press mem and the talk/batt low LED blinks.
3)Enter the phone number, up to 16 digits. If a pause is needed during dialing to access a long distance service, press redial/p.
4)Press mem again.
5)Enter the memory location
