Listening Operation

The letters such as A in the various illustrations refer to the descriptions in the “Location of Controls” section (See page 4.) .

You can tune directly to the station in Free Mode by finding the station’s frequency, or you can store the station in Memory Mode to make tun- ing simpler.

Memory Mode

1 Release hold.

2 Connect the wired remote control and the stereo earphones to [Ë]. (Plug in firmly.)

3 Press [RADIO/BAND] (main unit) or [RADIO] (remote control) to turn on the radio.

4 Press [TUNING, i, j, 9, :] to set to Free Mode.

(Available only from the main unit)

5 Press [RADIO/BAND] (main unit) or [RADIO] (remote control) to change the band.

Each time the button is pressed:

FM (----. AM

6 Press [TUNING, i, j, 9, :] (main unit), or [i] or [j] (remote control) to select the frequency of the station.

i: increases frequency j : decreases frequency

For your reference:

Press for over 1.5 seconds to make the frequen- cy change rapidly.

“TUNED” is displayed when a station is tuned.

7 Adjust the volume.

To turn off the radio

Press [, POWER OFF] (main unit) or press and

hold [RADIO] (remote control).

Putting stations into the channels B

Frequencies of up to 30 stations can be stored; 20 FM and 10 AM.

(Available only from the main unit)

Preparation:

Connect the earphones as they act as an FM antenna. Use Free Mode to tune to the station you want to

store.

1 Press [MEMORY/RECALL].

The band number and frequency number flash.

2 Within 10 seconds

Press [RADIO/BAND] to select a band number to store the station.

Each time the button is pressed:

When storing an FM station FM1-.FM2-.FM3-.FM4 ^-----------------------------------}

When storing an AM station

AM1(----. AM2

For your reference:

You can change the frequency by pressing

[TUNING, i, j, 9, :].

3 Within 10 seconds

Press a preset channel button ( [1] [2], [3], [4], [5] ) to store the station.

Recalling preset stations

Preparation:

Perform step 1 – 3 of the Free Mode.

1 Press a numbered button to switch to Memory Mode.
