2 Set the POWER/LOCK switch to ON. The display appears.

SmartMedia inserted fully into the slot

When you set the POWER/LOCK switch to the ON position, “PLEASE WAIT” flashes on the display for several seconds.

SmartMedia not inserted fully into the slot

When you set the POWER/LOCK switch to the ON position, “INSERT CARD” flashes on the display for several seconds. Pressing any button with no SmartMedia card inserted causes “INSERT CARD” to appear again.

Push the SmartMedia card fully into position.

Notes

• If an unformatted SmartMedia card is inserted, “FORMAT YES?” will display automatically. Format the SmartMedia card (P.55).

• Never use any SmartMedia card other than one that has been formatted on this unit or on a CAMEDIA series Olympus digital camera (P.55).
