Notes

The bit rates for playback possible on the DM-1 are 32 kbps to 160 kbps for both the MP3 and WMA format.

When playing back a file with a bit rate below 64 kbps, the displayed time may not be accurate.

It is possible to play back files with different bit rates (converting the bit rate within one file); however, the displayed time may not be accurate.

When using the earphones, do NOT set the volume too high. Listening at very high volume may lead to hearing loss.

It is possible to listen to music without the earphones, using the internal speakers; however, the sound will be in mono, not stereo.

If neither the title nor artist name was recorded, “UNKNOWN” will be displayed on the screen.

You may use alphanumerics and symbols except

_

for #, $, @, [, ], \, , , ', ^, {, and } for the title and artist names.

You may use alphanumerics and symbols except

_

for #, $, @, [, ], \, , , ', ^, {, and } for the filenames. (Any lowercase letters you use in filenames will appear as capitals.)

If the filename consists of more than 9 characters,

it will be shortened on the display (example: FILEABCDE becomes FILEA~1).

It is possible to record up to 30 characters each for the title and artist name.
