3-2 Set the Backlighting Level (BACKLIGHT)

There are 8 levels of backlight. Level 8 is the brightest.

1.Select BACKLIGHT.

2.Select a comfortable backlight level using the Channel Select knob or + or – to change the setting.

Note: If you set the backlight level to zero, the base station backlight and the microphone backlight will turn OFF. Otherwise, they will both be ON.

3.Press ENT to enable the setting and return to the menu.

Note: The DISTRESS key backlight cannot be switched off.

3-3 Maintain your buddy list (BUDDY LIST)

Use the buddy list to store the names and associated MMSIs of 20 favorite people. Names are stored in the order of entry, with the most recent entry shown first.

The following sections show how to use BUDDY LIST to add, edit, and delete entries on your buddy list. Section 6-3 explains how to call a buddy.

3-3-1 Add an Entry

You can enter a maximum of 20 buddy names. When your BUDDY LIST is full, you cannot make a new entry until you have deleted an existing entry.

Each buddy name can have a maximum of 11 alphanumeric characters.
