SET mode items

DBeep tone function “bP”

You can select silent operation by turning the beep tones OFF, or you can have 2 types of confirmation beeps sound at the push of a switch. When ON is selected, a fixed beep (Pi) sounds, and when US is selected, the preset beeps (e.g. do, re, mi) sound.

Beep tone synchronises with the volume level.

The beeps sound during call channel programming and a weather alert tone indication even if this function is turned OFF.

DWeather alert function “AL”

An NOAA broadcast station transmits a weather alert tone be- fore any important weather announcements. When the weather alert function is turned ON, the transceiver detects the alert, the alert indicator (“ALT”) blinks and sounds a beep tone until the transceiver is operated. The previously selected (used) weather channel is checked any time during standby, or while scanning, when the power save function is activated.

“ALT” appears when the function is set ON.

The transceiver has 2 scan types—normal (OFF) and priority (ON) scans. Normal scan searches all tag channels in the se- lected channel group. Priority scan searches all tag channels in sequence while monitoring Channel 16.
