Viewing Closed Captions
Your TV displays the closed captions that are broadcast with some television shows. These captions are usually subtitles for the hearing impaired or language translations. All VCRs record the closed caption signal and most

✓Misspellings and odd characters can occur in captioning. Also, there may be a captioning delay after changing channels. Neither situation is a TV malfunction.
44 Press CH ▼ to highlight “Mode.” Press – VOL or VOL + to choose “Capt.” (captions) or “Text.” In caption mode, captions appear and cover a small portion of the picture. In text mode, information unre- lated to the program, such as news reports, are displayed and often cover a large portion of the screen.
22 Press VOL+ to open the Closed Caption menu.
