FUNCTION PROBLEMS

3.Poor arc striking with sticking or “blast-offs”, weld porosity, narrow and ropy looking bead, or elec- trode stubbing into plate while welding.

A. Improper procedures or tech- niques.

B. Improper gas shielding.

If all recommended possible areas of misadjustment have been checked and the problem persists,

Contact your local Lincoln Authorized Field Service Facility.

4. Tip seizes in diffuser.

A. Tip overheating due to prolonged or excessive high current and/or duty cycle welding.
