TROUBLESHOOTING

In the event of a malfunction (burning smell, etc.), immediately stop operation, turn off breaker,

WARNING! and consult authorized service personnel.

Merely turning off the indoor unit’s power switch will not completely disconnect the unit from the power source. Always be sure to disconnect the Power Supply Plug or turn off your circuit breaker to ensure that power is completely off.

Before requesting service, perform the following checks:

the compressor will not operate for about 3 minutes, in order to

prevent fuse blowouts.

● Whenever the Power Supply Plug is disconnected and then recon-

3 minutes, preventing unit operation during that period.

Noise is heard:

● During operation or immediately after stopping the unit, the sound

of water flowing in the air conditioner’s piping may be heard.

Also, noise may be particularly noticeable for about 2 to 3 min-

utes after starting operation (sound of refrigerant flowing).

● During operation, a slight squeaking sound may be heard. This is

the result of minute expansion and contraction of the front panel

due to temperature changes.

● During Heating operation, a sizzling sound may be heard occasional.

This sound is produced by the Automatic Defrosting operation.

Smells:

● Some smell may be emitted from the indoor unit. This smell is

the result of room smells (furniture, tobacco, etc.) which have

been taken into the indoor unit.

from the indoor unit. This results from the sudden cooling of room

air by the cool air emitted from the indoor unit, resulting in con-

densation and misting.

● During Heating operation, the outdoor unit’s fan may stop, and

steam may be seen rising from the unit. This is due to Automatic

Defrosting operation.

Airflow is weak or stops:

● When Heating operation is started, fan speed is temporarily very

low, to allow internal parts to warm up.

● During Heating operation, if the room temperature rises above

the thermostat setting, the outdoor unit will stop, and the indoor

unit will operate at very low fan speed. If you wish to warm the

room further, set the thermostat for a higher setting.

● During Heating operation, the indoor unit will temporarily stop

operation (between 7 and 15 minutes) as the Automatic Defrost-

MW09Y3H, MW12Y3H specifications

Friedrich MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H are the latest offerings in Friedrich's line of mini-split air conditioning systems, known for their efficiency, convenience, and advanced technology. These units are designed to provide optimal comfort in a wide range of environments, from residential spaces to small commercial establishments.

One of the main features of both the MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H models is their high energy efficiency rating. The seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of these systems is impressive, allowing for significant energy savings compared to traditional air conditioning units. This not only helps to lower electricity bills but also contributes to a reduced carbon footprint, making them an eco-friendly choice.

The MW09Y3H is ideal for smaller spaces, with a cooling capacity of 9,000 BTUs, making it well-suited for bedrooms or small living rooms. In contrast, the MW12Y3H offers a cooling capacity of 12,000 BTUs, providing the necessary power for larger areas. Both models utilize inverter technology, which allows the compressor to operate at variable speeds, ensuring consistent temperature control while minimizing energy consumption.

Another standout characteristic is the advanced filtration system integrated into both units. This system captures dust, allergens, and other pollutants, promoting better indoor air quality. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies or respiratory conditions, as the filters can be easily removed and cleaned for maintenance.

Friedrich also emphasizes user convenience with these models. Both units come with a user-friendly remote control that allows for easy adjustments to temperature settings, fan speed, and mode selection from a distance. Additionally, the LED display on the indoor unit provides clear visibility of the current settings and temperature.

Furthermore, the MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H include a variety of operating modes, such as cooling, heating, dehumidifying, and fan-only modes, providing versatility for year-round comfort. The heat pump functionality allows these units to provide heating, making them a great choice for colder climates without the need for additional heating sources.

In summary, Friedrich's MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H mini-split air conditioning systems stand out due to their energy efficiency, advanced filtration, user-friendly controls, and versatile operating modes. They are a perfect choice for anyone seeking reliable and effective climate control solutions while prioritizing sustainability and comfort in their living spaces.
