OPERATING TIPS

Operation and Performance

Heating Performance

Microcomputer-controlled Automatic Defrosting

This air conditioner operates on the heat-pump princi- ple, absorbing heat from outdoor air and transferring that heat to indoor unit. As a result, the operating perform- ance is reduced as outdoor air temperature drops. If you feel that insufficient heating performance is being produced, we recommend you use this air conditioner in conjunction with another kind of heating appliance.

Heat-pump air conditioners heat your entire room by recirculating air throughout the room, with the result that some time may be required after first starting the air con- ditioner until the room is heated.

When using the Heating mode under conditions of low outdoor temperature and high humidity, frost may form on the outdoor unit, resulting in reduced operating per- formance.

In order to prevent this kind of reduced performance, this air conditioner is equipped with a Microcomputer- controlled Automatic Defrosting function. If frost forms, the air conditioner will temporarily stop, and the defrosting circuit will operate briefly (for about 7-15 min- utes).

During Automatic Defrosting operation, the OPERATION Indicator Lamp (green) will flash.

AUTO Restart

In Event of Power Interruption

The power supply to the air conditioner is stopped by a power interruption. The air conditioner will then restart automatically in its previous mode when the power is restored.

If a power interruption occurs during TIMER operation, the timer will be reset and the indoor unit will begin (or stop) operation at the new time setting. In the event that this kind of timer fault occurs, the TIMER Indicator Lamp will flash (see Page. 4).

Use of other electrical appliances (electric shaver, etc.) or nearby use of a wireless radio transmitter may cause the air conditioner to malfunction. In this event, temporarily disconnect the Power Supply Plug, reconnect it, and then use the Remote Control Unit to resume operation.

MW09Y3H, MW12Y3H specifications

Friedrich MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H are the latest offerings in Friedrich's line of mini-split air conditioning systems, known for their efficiency, convenience, and advanced technology. These units are designed to provide optimal comfort in a wide range of environments, from residential spaces to small commercial establishments.

One of the main features of both the MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H models is their high energy efficiency rating. The seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of these systems is impressive, allowing for significant energy savings compared to traditional air conditioning units. This not only helps to lower electricity bills but also contributes to a reduced carbon footprint, making them an eco-friendly choice.

The MW09Y3H is ideal for smaller spaces, with a cooling capacity of 9,000 BTUs, making it well-suited for bedrooms or small living rooms. In contrast, the MW12Y3H offers a cooling capacity of 12,000 BTUs, providing the necessary power for larger areas. Both models utilize inverter technology, which allows the compressor to operate at variable speeds, ensuring consistent temperature control while minimizing energy consumption.

Another standout characteristic is the advanced filtration system integrated into both units. This system captures dust, allergens, and other pollutants, promoting better indoor air quality. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies or respiratory conditions, as the filters can be easily removed and cleaned for maintenance.

Friedrich also emphasizes user convenience with these models. Both units come with a user-friendly remote control that allows for easy adjustments to temperature settings, fan speed, and mode selection from a distance. Additionally, the LED display on the indoor unit provides clear visibility of the current settings and temperature.

Furthermore, the MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H include a variety of operating modes, such as cooling, heating, dehumidifying, and fan-only modes, providing versatility for year-round comfort. The heat pump functionality allows these units to provide heating, making them a great choice for colder climates without the need for additional heating sources.

In summary, Friedrich's MW09Y3H and MW12Y3H mini-split air conditioning systems stand out due to their energy efficiency, advanced filtration, user-friendly controls, and versatile operating modes. They are a perfect choice for anyone seeking reliable and effective climate control solutions while prioritizing sustainability and comfort in their living spaces.
