Edge Sander Safety Rules
The Model G1531 is capable of causing severe injury if used in a reckless manner. Please follow the
1.Observe all electrical requirements such as fuse sizing, wire sizing, grounding and any other electrical consideration.
2.Ensure that all guards are in place and that the edge sander is placed on a flat, stable surface.
3.Always wear eye protection when operat- ing an edge sander. Use a respirator to avoid inhaling dust. All safety equipment should be ANSI approved.
4.Always observe the condition of the materials you are sanding. Pay particular attention to knots, splits and other poten- tially dangerous conditions.
5.Never operate the sander with a damaged sanding belt.
6.Maintain your sander in proper working condition. Perform routine inspections and maintenance promptly when called for. Put away adjustment tools after use.
7.Make sure your edge sander is turned off, disconnected from its power source and all moving parts have come to a complete stop before starting any inspection, adjustment, or maintenance procedures.
8.Compound sanding should always be fully supported.

11.Allow the sanding belt to gain its full speed before beginning sanding.
12.Shut off the power immediately after a belt breaks, and remove belt only after the sander comes to a complete stop.

15.Do not stop sander by putting a piece of wood against the sanding belt.

Remember that every shop has its own specific hazards. Be sure, above all else, to use good common sense and reasonable caution each time you start this sander, or any woodworking machinery. Proper safety standards rarely take any more time or energy when followed religiously. Develop a habit of safety.
