2.7.7 Host Explorer
The Host Explorer communicates with the storage server over an FC or iSCSI connection and provides detailed host configuration information. You can start the service and configure settings through the Host Explorer tab available from the RMVMware Admin Tool GUI interface (see 4.4 Host Explorer Tab on page 4.11 for details).
The Host Explorer collects the following information and sends it to the Storage Server:
■Host operating system and version.
■Fibre Channel and iSCSI HBA details.
■Multipath driver and current multipath configuration.
■Cluster configuration information.
■Device and path Information.
2.7.8Scheduling Tool
You can automatically have virtual copies created according to a specified schedule by using the scheduling tool (see 6.8 Scheduling Virtual Copies on page 6.19 for details). You have the option of scheduling when (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) the virtual copy is to be created and then specifying how often the task is to be performed.
