HP Environmental Control Suite

The HP Environmental Control Suite (ECS) is a comprehensive management package providing complete control and monitoring of the HP POD 240a—either locally (at the POD) or remotely.

The ECS has these key capabilities:

Power, smoke, alarm, and fire suppression monitoring

User-definable alarm levels

Policy-based Adapative Cooling control:

User-selectable cooling parameters to ASHRAE1-recommended, ASHRAE-allowable, or HP-allowable

User-defined set points for switching cooling modes based on outside environmental conditions

Integrates with HP management systems through MODBUS serial or TCP/IP internet communications protocols

HP Insight Control for managing HP ProLiant server deployment, health management, and power consumption

Conclusion

Efficient power distribution, Adaptive Cooling technology, and ECS make the HP POD 240a the world’s most efficient data center. The HP POD can be deployed up to 88% faster (for quicker ROI), at one quarter the CAPEX cost, and in a tenth of the space required by a traditional facility. Once installed, the HP POD 240a continues to reduce costs by operating with up to 95% power efficiency. The savings in TCO for the HP POD 240a represents a substantial amount better spent toward other areas of your company’s innovation.
