4.Install thermal paste on the following components:

Thermal paste is used on the processor (1) and the heat sink (2).

Reverse this procedure to install the heat sink.

Display assembly

NOTE: The display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level only. For more display assembly spare part information, see the individual removal subsections.

Before replacing the display assembly, follow these steps:

1.Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3.Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4.Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 19).

Remove the display assembly:

1.Disconnect the display panel cable (1) from the system board.

2.Disconnect the WLAN antenna cable (2) from the terminal on the WLAN module.

3.Release the WLAN antenna cable from the clip (3) built into the base enclosure.

4.Remove the two Phillips PM1.9×2.8 screws (4) that secure the display assembly system board to the base enclosure.
