About this guide

This guide describes how to configure and use Data Protector with MPE/iX systems.

Intended audience

This guide is intended for backup administrators responsible for planning, setting up, and maintaining network backups. It assumes you are familiar with:

Basic Data Protector functionality

MPE/iX system administration

Conceptual information can be found in the HP Data Protector concepts guide, which is recommended to fully understand the fundamentals and the model of Data Protector.

Documentation set

Other documents and online Help provide related information.

Guides

Data Protector guides are available in printed format and in PDF format. Install the PDF files during the Data Protector setup procedure by selecting the English Documentation & Help component on Windows or the OB2-DOCScomponent on UNIX. Once installed, the guides reside in the Data_Protector_home\docs directory on Windows and in the /opt/omni/doc/C directory on UNIX.
