7Heater Setup

A. Remove Shipping Materials

Remove shipping pack from front of fi replace taking care not to damage grate. See Figure 7.1.

Remove grate from shipping pack and set aside. Discard shipping pack.

Cut and discard the ties bundling the fi rescreen.

Remove screws holding ember bed shipping tabs in place.

Remove the tabs and discard. Replace the screws.

B. Clean Heater

The heater was cleaned at the factory but dust may have accumulated during shipping.

Vacuum fi rebox area and wipe acrylic panel (in back of fi rebox) with a dry, lint-free cloth or paper towel. DO NOT USE GLASS CLEANER! It will ruin the acrylic panel.

Remove all fi ngerprints and smudges from front trim to avoid permanently burning them into fi nish.

C. Accessories

Refer to instructions included with accessory.

D. Install Refractory

Remove protective cover to access fi nal installation items.

Remove Log Assembly

Lift log set straight up and place in safe place.

Install Side Refractory

Remove the refractory and fasteners from the carton.

Take the refractory support bracket and bend it until it is L-shaped.

Install the bracket to the underside of the firebox top using the screws provided. Keep the bracket loose to allow the refractory to slide in behind it.

Tilt the side refractory into the heater and slide it behind the bracket. See Figure 7.2.

Tighten the bracket when the refractory is resting on the hearth and is up against the back acrylic panel.

Repeat for the other side.

Install Grate

Place grate legs into corresponding holes in ember bed, andirons to front. See Figure 7.3.

Reinstall Logs

Slide log brackets over tabs located on back of ember bed. See Figure 7.4.
