Tuning Radio Stations

2Press AM/FM to select the radio band.

3 Press tune ST on the front of the DCP501 or ( ) on the remote control to change the frequency. The frequency changes in 200kHz steps in FM and 10kHz steps in AM. Press and hold tune on either the DCP501 front panel or the DCP501 remote control and DCP501 display A U T O icon turns on and the DCP501 scans to the next radio station.

If the tuned signal received is strong, the T U N E D icon turns on. For a stereo FM station, the S T icon also turns on. If the signal is weak, S T (stereo) flashes. Press FM MODE to improve the sound, which causes the receiver to operate in monaural (mono) mode, and the S T icon turns off. Press FM MODE again to return to stereo operation.

Note: The red S T (stereo) icon, which corresponds to AM/FM broadcasts, is different from the S T (stereo) icon that corresponds to audio playback from all other sources.
