Heating water
Danger
NEVER place the electrical base y adjacent to water – a potentially fatal risk!
Note
Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that has cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could have formed in it!
Note
When possible, heat only as much water as you actually need. This also saves energy!
•Lift the kettle off of the base when filling it!
•Open the lid by pressing the lid switch under the handle of the lid t, thereby opening the lid up. Pull the lid back slightly so that it is secure and does not drop down.
•When filling it, hold the kettle upright . Only in this way can you correctly read the markings.
Fill the kettle...
–at least to the MIN mark, so that the appliance does not overheat,
–no more than to the MAX mark, so that no boiling water spills out.
•First close the lid, ensuring that it engages...
•and then place the kettle on the basey, such that it is standing absolutely upright on the base
y.
• Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
You can now heat the water up:
•Set the desired temperature:
press the button SET TEMP r repeatedly until the LED q at the desired temperature glows. You can choose between 40°C, 60°C, 80°C and 100°C.
Information
If you cannot set the desired temperature, it may be because the temperature of the water in the kettle is still too high. In this case, exchange the water for freshly drawn mains water.
•When you selected the desired temperature, press the On/Off button e within about 10 se- conds. The LED q of the selected temperature blinks. The LED integrated in the On/Off button e glows. If you do not start the boiling process wit- hin 10 seconds the set temperature lapses.
•Once the desired temperature has been reached, a signal tone sounds, the respective LED q for the temperature reached is lit constantly for about 2 minutes and the LED integrated in the On/Off switch e extinguishes.
Information
If you want to bring water to a boil (100°C), you only need to press the On/Off button e. The kettle will bring the water to a boil.
Information
-You can cancel the heating up of the water at any time by pressing the On/Off button e.
-Once you lift the kettle from the base y, the appliance switches all functions off. All settings are cancelled.
