Ajuste del termostato del horno: ¡Hágalo usted mismo!

Usted se puede percatar que su horno nuevo cocina distinto al que reemplazó. Use su horno nuevo por varias semanas para familiarizarse con él. Si aún piensa que su horno nuevo es demasiado caliente o demasiado frío, usted puede ajustar el termostato usted mismo.

No use termómetros, como los que se venden en tiendas de aprovisionamiento para inspeccionar la temperatura de su horno. Estos termómetros podrían variar de 20 a 40 grados.

NOTA: este ajuste sólo afectará la temperatura de horneado y asado; no afecta las temperaturas de asado

a la parrilla, convección o autolimpieza. El ajuste se almacenará en la memoria después de una falla eléctrica.

Para ajustar el termostato

Presione los botones Bake y Broil Hi/Lo al mismo tiempo durante

3 segundos hasta que la pantalla muestre SF.

Presione el botón Bake para la estufa que desea usar. En

la pantalla se muestra un número de dos dígitos.

Presione Bake nuevamente para alternar entre el aumento

y la disminución de la temperatura del horno.

La temperatura del horno pueda ajustarse hasta (+) 35 °F más caliente o (-) 35 °F más fría. Presione los botones numéricos en el mismo sentido que aparecen. Por ejemplo, para cambiar la temperatura del horno a 15 °F, presione 1 y 5.

Cuando haya realizado el ajuste, presione el botón Start para volver a la pantalla de la hora del día. Utilice su horno como lo haría normalmente.

¡El tipo de margarina afectará el desempeño del horneado!

La mayoría de las recetas para hornear se han desarrollado usando productos de alto contenido en grasa como mantequilla o margarina (80% de grasa). Si disminuye la grasa, es posible que la receta no tenga los mismos resultados que con un producto de mayor contenido de grasa.

Las recetas pueden fallar si las tortas, pasteles, galletas o dulces se preparan con productos bajos en grasa. Mientras menos sea el contenido de grasa de un producto tipo mantequilla, más se notarán estas diferencias.

Los estándares federales exigen que los productos marcados como margarinas, contengan por lo menos un 80% de grasa por peso. Por otra parte, los productos tipo mantequilla bajos en grasa contienen menos grasa y más agua.

El alto contenido de humedad de estos productos afecta la textura y el sabor de los alimentos horneados. Para mejores resultados con sus viejas recetas favoritas, use margarina, mantequilla u otros productos que contengan por lo menos un 70% de aceite vegetal.
