Before a Clean Cycle

1.Removethe broilerpan,broilerrack, all cookware and any aluminumFoilfromthe oven—theycan’t withstandthe highcleaningtemperatures.

NOTE: The oven shelvesmay be cleaned in

the self-cleaningoven. However,they will darken, losetheirlusterand becomehard to slide.Wipethe shelfsupportswithcookingoil after self-cleaning to make shelvesslidemoreeasily.

2.WiDeu~heavvsoilon the ovenbottom.If You us; soa~,rins; thoroughlybeforeself-clefiing to preventstaining.

3.Cleanspattersor soilon the ovenfrontframeand the ovendooroutsidethe gasketwith a dampened cloth,The ovenfrontframeand the ovendoor outsidethe gasketdo not get cleanedby the self- cleancycle.On theseareas,use detergentand hot wateror a soap-filledsteelwoolpad. Rinsewell with a vinegarand water solution.This will help preventa brownresiduefrom formingwhen the oven is heated.Bufftheseareaswith a dry cloth. Do not cleanthe gasket.

Cleanthe top, sidesand outsidefrontof the oven door with soap and water.Also use soap and water to cleanunderthe ovenventgrille.Do not use abrasives or oven cleaners.

Makesure the oven lightbulbcoveris in place.

Do not rub or clean the door gasket— the fiberglassmaterialof the gaskethas an extremelylow resistanceto abrasion.An intact and well-fittingovendoor gasketis essentialfor energy-efficientoven operationand goodbaking results.If you noticethe gasketbecomingworn, frayedor damagedin any way or if it has become displacedon the door,you shouldhave it replaced.

Do not let water run down through openingsin the top of the door. To help preventwaterfrom gettingin theseslotswhencleaning,open the door as far as it will go.

4.Closethe oven door and makesurethe oven lightis off. If the ovenlightis not turnedoff, the life of the bulb will be shortenedor it may bum out immediatelyThe. doorlatches automaticallyafterthe cleancycleis set.

Do not use commercial oven cleaners or oven protectors in or near the self-cleaningoven. A combinationof any of theseproductsplus the high clean-cycletemperaturemay damagethe porcelainfinishof the oven.
