Lift-Off Oven Door LowerOven

The oven door is removable, but it is heavy.Youmay need help removingand replacing the door.Do not lift the doorby the handle.This can causethe glassto breakor can cause damageto the door.

To remove the door, openit a few inchesto the specialstop positionthatwill holdthe door open.Grasp firmlyon each side and lift the door straightup and off the hinges.

NOTE:

Be carefulnot to placehandsbetweenthe hingeand the ovendoorframeas the hingecould snapback and pinchfingers.

Whileworkingin the oven area,coverthe hinges with towelsor emptypapertowelrolls to prevent pinchedfingersand chippingthe porcelainenamel on the frame.

To replace the door, makesurethe hingesare in the specialstopposition.Positionthe slotsin the bottom of the door squarelyoverthe hinges.Then lowerthe door slowlyand evenlyoverbothhingesat the same time.If hingessnapback againstthe oven frame,pull themback out.

TO CLEAN THE DOOR:

Becausethe area insidethe gasketis cleanedduring the self cleancycle,you do not needto cleanthis by hand.Any soap left on the linercausesadditional stainswhenthe oven is heated.

The area outsidethe gasketcan be cleanedwith a soap-filledscouringpad.

Do not rub or cleanthe doorgasket—thefiberglass materialof the gaskethas an extremelylow resistanceto abrasion.An intactand well-fitting ovendoorgasketis essentialfor energy-efficient ovenoperationand goodbakingresults,If you noticethe gasketbecomingworn,frayedor damaged in any way or if it has becomedisplacedon the door, you shouldhave it replaced.

Use soapand waterto thoroughlycleanthe top, sidesand frontof the oven door.Rinsewell. You may also use a glasscleanerto cleanthe glasson the outsideof the door.

Spillageof marinades,fruitjuices, tomatosauces and bastingmaterialscontainingacidsmay cause discolorationand shouldbe wipedup immediately. When surfaceis cool,clean and rinse.

Do not use ovencleaners,cleansingpowdersor harsh abrasiveson the outsideof the door.

Cleantheshelveswith a mild abrasive cleanser.

.4ftercleaning,rinsethe shelveswith cleanwaterand dry with a cleancloth.

To remove heavy,burned-on soil, use soapymetal pads. After scrubbing,wash with soapywater,rinse and dry.

The oven shelvesmay be cleaned in self cleaning oven. However,they will darken,lose theirlusterand becomehard to slide.Wipethe shelfsupportswith cookingoil after self-cleaningto makeshelvesslide moreeasily.
