Answers

ANSWERS

You can only use a rack designed to be used with your microwave oven. Use of any rack not designed for the microwave oven can result in poor cooking perfor- mance and/or arcing.

Useable metal includes aluminum foil for shielding (use small, flat pieces), small skewers, and shallow foil trays (if tray is not taller than % inch deep and half filled with food to absorb microwave energy). Never allow metal to touch walls or door. (For more information, see “Using alumi- num foil” in the “Cookina Guide” section.)

This appearance is normal and does not affect the operation of your oven.

You hear the sound of the transformer when the magnetron tube cycles on.

As the food becomes hot it will conduct the heat to the dish. Be prepared to use hot pads to remove food after cooking.

“Standing time” means that food should be removed from the oven and covered for additional time to allow it to finish cooking. This frees the oven for other cooking.

Steam is normally produced during cooking. The microwave oven has been designed to vent this steam out the top vent.

Yes. Pop packaged microwave popcorn following manufacturer’s guidelines. Do not use regular paper bags. Use the “listening test” by stopping the oven as soon as the popping slows to a “pop”every 1 or 2 seconds. Do not repop unpopped kernels. You can also use special micro- wave poppers. When using a popper, be sure to follow manufacturer’s directions.

Do not pop popcorn in glass utensils.
