LHE Series Natural Vent Insert

Modification Instructions of

EP28-5 Series Fireplace

Upgrading to LHEC20 or LHER20

Natural Vent Insert

WARNING: You must turn off gas supply to fireplace.

1.Remove the upper and lower trims.

2.Remove the doors and mesh firescreen, if installed.

3.Remove the bottom door rail. (Fig. 28)

4.Disconnect the gas supply from the control valve un- der the fireplace. Remove the two (2) screws located at bottom rear of burner pan. Disconnect the primary spill switch from the gas valve. Leave the primary spill switch in its location, as it must be rewired to complete the new burner assembly installation. Lift the complete burner assembly up and out of unit to clear support ledge. (Fig. 29) Remove the existing fan assembly, if installed.

5.Remove the hood and inner baffle. (Fig. 30)

6.Install the LHEC20/LHER20 insert by pushing it all the way back inside the shell. (Fig. 31) For complete gas line and venting installation, refer to Pages 6 and 8.
