TO ADJUSTTHROTTLE CONTROL CABLE

The throttle controlhas been presetat the factor/end adjustmentshouldnot be necessary Check adjustmentas described below before looseningcable. If adjustment is necessary, proceedas follows:

1.W'_engine notrunning,move throttle controllever from slewto choke pcsi_on. Slowly move leverfrom choketo fast position.

2.Check that holes "A" in governor control lever and hole in govemor plate line-up. If holes "A" are notaligned, loosen clamp screw and move throttle cable until holes

are aligned. Tighten clamp screw

securely.

TO ADJUST CARBURETOR

NOTE: The serbureter on this engine is low emission. It is equippedwithan idle fuel adjustingneedle with a limitercap, which allowssome adjustment withinthe limits allowedby the cap. Do notattemptto removethe limitercap. The limitercap cannot be removedwithoutbreakingthe adjustingneedle.

The carburetor has been preset at the fectory and adjustmentshould not be necessary. However,minoradjustmentmay be requiredto compensatefor differencesin fuel, temperature, altitude or load. Ifthe

carburetor does need adjustment,proceed as follows:

In general,temleg idle mixture valve in (clockwise)decreasesthe supplyof fuel to the engine givinga leaner fuel/air mixture. Tumingthe idle mixturevalve out (counter- cleckwlse) increasesthe supply offuel to the enginegivinga dcher tuel/air mixture. IMPORTANT: Damage to the needlevalve and the seat in carburetor may result ifscrew is temad in too tight.

PRELIMINARY SEI-FING -

1.Air deaner assembly must be as- sembled to the carburetor when making carburetor adjustments.

2.Be sure the throttle control cable is adjusted properly (see above).

FINAL SEI-rlNG -

1.Start engine and allow to warm for five minutes. Make finaladjustments with engine runningand shiffJmotJoncontrol lever in neub'al(N) position.

2.Move throttle controllever to slow position. With finger,rotete and hold throtHe lever against idle speed screw. Turn idle speed screw to attain 1750 RPM.

3.While still holding thro_e lever against idle speed screw, tum idle mixture valve full travel clockwisethen counterclock- wise until engine runs rough. Turn valve to a point midwaybetween those two positions. Release throttle lever.
