BLADE CONTROL

Thebladecontrolis attachedto the upperhandleof the mower.See Figure9. Depressand squeezeit againstthe upperhandleto operate the unit. Releaseit to stopengineand blade.

Thisbladecontrolis a safetydevice.Neverattemptto bypassits operations.

CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

LEVER

Thecuttingheightadjustmentleveris locatedabovethe left rearwheel.Toadjustthecutting height,referto the Assemblysection.

DRIVE CONTROL

Thedrivecontrolis locatedonthe upperhandle.Squeezethe drive controlto engagethe drivesystem.Releaseit to disengagethedrive system.

ELECTRIC START IGNITION KEY

The electricstartignitionkeyis locatedonthe left sideof the handle panel.Itis usedonly forthe electricstarter.

SIDE DISCHARGE COVER

Yourmoweris shippedas a mulcher.Todischargethegrassclippings to the side instead,followthe instructionsin the Assemblysectionto attachthe sidedischargecover.

Keephandsandfeetawayfromthe chuteareaoncuttingdeck. Refer to warninglabelonthe unit.

RECOIL STARTER

The recoilstarteris connectedto the supportrodandis locatedon the rightsideof the lowerhandle.Standbehindthe unit andpullthe recoil starterropeto start the unit.

GAS CAP

Removethe gascap to addfuel to the fueltank. Useclean,fresh, regularunleadedgasolinewitha minimumof 87 octane.

SHIFT LEVER

Theshift leveris locatedonthe drivecontrolhousingonthe upper handle.Thisleveris usedto selectthe forwardspeedof the mower. Whenchangingspeedselection,releasethe drivecontrol.

IMPORTANT:Movethe shift leveronlywhenthe engineis running. Changingthe shift leversettingwiththeengineoff can damagethe mower.

OIL CAP/DIPSTICK

Referto the Maintenancesectionfor instructionsoncheckingthe oil.

TRAIL SHIELD

The trail shieldis attachedto the rearof the mowerand isthere to

protectthe operatorfromflyingdebris.Do not usethe mowerunless the shieldis fullyfunctionalandin place.
