1-2. SAFETY FEATURES

Numbers preceding the descriptions correspond with the num- bers on preceding page to help you locate the safety feature.

1LOW KICKBACK SAW CHAIN helps significantly reduce kickback, or the intensity of kickback, due to specially designed depth gauges and guard links.

2GUIDE BAR Reduced kickback guide bar reduces the inten- sity of kickback.

3SPARK ARRESTER SCREEN retains carbon and other flammable particles over 0.023 inches (0.6mm) in size from engine exhaust flow. Compliance with local, state and feder- al laws and/or regulations governing the use of a spark arrester screen is the user’s responsibility. See Safety Precautions for additional information.

4CHAIN BRAKE® LEVER / HAND GUARD protects the operator’s left hand in the event it slips off the front handle while saw is running.

4CHAIN BRAKE® is a safety feature designed to reduce the possibility of injury due to kickback by stopping a moving saw chain in milliseconds. It is activated by the CHAIN

BRAKE® lever.

7STOP SWITCH immediately stops the engine when tripped. Stop switch must be pushed to ON position to start or restart engine.

8SAFETY TRIGGER prevents accidental acceleration of the engine. Throttle trigger (21) cannot be squeezed unless the safety latch is depressed.

23CHAIN CATCHER reduces the danger of injury in the event saw chain breaks or derails during operation. The chain catcher is designed to intercept a whipping chain.

9096311037, 966993701 specifications

The McCulloch 966993701 and 9096311037 are advanced chainsaws known for their power, efficiency, and cutting performance. Designed for both home users and professionals, these models cater to a wide range of cutting needs, from pruning branches to felling trees and processing firewood.

One of the standout features of these McCulloch chainsaws is their robust engine design. Both models are equipped with high-performance two-stroke engines that deliver impressive power-to-weight ratios, allowing for efficient cutting without excessive fatigue during operation. This makes them ideal for extended use in various outdoor tasks.

The 966993701 model, in particular, boasts a displacement of 50cc, generating a strong output that ensures quick and precise cutting. The engine is engineered with advanced air injection technology, which reduces air filter contamination, resulting in prolonged performance and less frequent maintenance. This feature also enhances fuel efficiency, maximizing operational time with minimal refueling.

On the other hand, the 9096311037 model offers an integrated fuel-efficient system that minimizes emissions, making it an environmentally conscious choice for users. Both chainsaws are designed with ergonomic handles, providing comfort and reducing the vibration felt during usage. This is critical for those who find themselves working for long periods, as it helps to improve control and reduce hand fatigue.

Safety mechanisms are also a priority in the design of the McCulloch chainsaws. Each unit features a chain brake system that halts the chain in the event of kickback, significantly enhancing user safety. Additionally, the automatic oiler ensures that the chain is consistently lubricated, reducing wear and maximizing lifespan.

Both models also come with easy-to-access and tool-less air filter systems, allowing for quick maintenance. Users can efficiently clean or replace filters to keep the chainsaws running smoothly without unnecessary downtime.

In summary, the McCulloch 966993701 and 9096311037 chainsaws are powerful, efficient, and user-friendly tools equipped with advanced technologies aimed at enhancing cutting performance. With their combination of safety features, ergonomic designs, and fuel-efficient engines, these chainsaws are perfect for any outdoor project, ensuring reliability and ease of use for all users, from hobbyists to professionals.
