OPERATION

WARNING! DISC MOWERS ARE NOT INTENDED FOR ROADSIDE OR MUNICIPAL MOWING. THEY ARE INTENDED FOR AGRICULTURAL USE ONLY. DO NOT OPERATE MOWER NEAR STRUCTURES WHICH MAY BE VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE FROM THROWN OBJECTS. THE OPERATING TRACTOR SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH AN ENCLOSED CAB!

CAUTION! BEFORE STARTING OPERATION, MAKE SURE THE COVER SHEET IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND IN THE LOWERED POSITION. DO NOT OPERATE THE MOWER WITHOUT THE COVER SHEET IN PLACE! AND IN THE LOWERED POSITION

IMPORTANT: After transporting the mower and before beginning field work, lower the cutting bar to the horizontal position, engage the PTO drive and run the tractor at idle for several minutes to lubricate all internal parts. Place the tractor hydraulic valve in float position so the mower can follow the terrain.

CAUTION! BEFORE STARTING OPERATION, MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO PEOPLE OR ANIMALS IN THE VICINITY OF THE MOWER.

CAUTION! DO NOT ENGAGE THE PTO WITH THE TRACTOR RUNNING AT HIGH SPEED. DRIVELINE DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.

CAUTION! OPERATE MOWER AT 540 RPM ONLY. HIGHER INPUT SPEEDS MAY RESULT IN COMPONENT FAILURE.

1.Engage the PTO drive and gradually increase the speed to 540 RPM. Only enter the crop when the mower is operating at 540 RPM. Do not reduce PTO RPM below 540 when mowing as this may cause plugging. If necessary to slow RPM, stop forward movement then reduce RPM.

2.Start the forward motion of the tractor. The high speed cutting ability of the Disc Mower allows faster ground speeds. Generally ground speed of 4 to 6 MPH will yield good results. Match your speed to the terrain and slow down on hilly or uneven ground. Reduce speed if the mower leaves uncut material. To mow neatly while turning corners, the ground speed will need to be reduced.

3.Cut around the field in a clockwise direction. On RH corners slow ground speed and turn sharply with mower bar in contact, with the ground to achieve square corners, It is necessary to raise the bar slightly when making LH turns. LH turns with the bar in contact with the ground may cause the breakaway to unlatch or lead to bar damage.

4.Maintain full RPM when running over previously cut material. Reduced RPM may cause plug- ging in these conditions.

5.In some field conditions, such as newly seeded fields, dirt or debris may build up between the rock guards. Build up in this area may cause streaking, leaving uncut strips. Clean the cutterbar frequently to prevent premature knife wear.

6.When mowing is finished, gradually reduce PTO speed and disengage the PTO drive.
