Do not run the engine without an air cleaner other- wise this will lead to increased wear on the engine

The air cleaner must be washed out more frequently if the engine is run in particularly dusty environment.

Do not wash the air cleaner in petrol or a cleaning solvent with a low flash point.

nPaper insert 1: Replace the insert if it is very dirty. Other- wise, blow compressed air through the insert from the inside to out or knock it against a hard surface. Do not brush it off, otherwise the dirt will be compacted between the fibres.

nFoam insert 2: Wash out the insert in a solution of was- hing-up liquid and warm water. Rinse it out and allow it to dry out thoroughly. Immerse the clean insert in engine oil and squeeze out the excess fluid. If too much oil is left in the insert, smoke will be given off by the engine when it is next started.

Petrol is highly flammable and under certain con- ditions it is also explosive. Do not smoke within

the working area and keep away from open flames or sparks.

When the filter holder is refitted, check that it seals properly and make sure the whole area is dry before starting the engine.

nSet the fuel tap to OFF 1.

nDetach the filter holder and O-ring 2 and wash it out in a non-flammable or flame-resistant solvent. Allow the holder to dry out thoroughly and then screw it on tight.

nSet the fuel tap to OPEN. Check that there is no leakage.

Checking the hydraulic system

nCarry out a visual inspection. If there is any loss of fluid from the hydraulic unit, cylinder or hoses, call KÄRCHER Customer Service.
