How To Adjust The Brake / Parking Brake | ||||||||||||
Test the wheel brake on a dry concrete surface. When |

properly adjusted, the unit will stop within 5 feet from fastest |
|
|
| |||||||||
speed. If stopping distance is more than 5 feet, adjustment |
|
|
| |||||||||
is required. |

1. Set the parking brake. Refer to “How To Set The Parking |

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the desired measurement is reached. Make sure to tighten the rear jam nut when adjustment is complete.
NOTE: Check to be sure there is slack in the PTO cable (F) when the mower blade is disengaged. This is essen- tial for correct operation of the blade brake. If there is no slack, lessen the cable tension until slack is obtained.
6. Replace the deck cover.
