5.1.4Clean engine cooling system:

Service Interval: Daily or more often in dry conditions

CAUTION

POTENTIAL HAZARD

Excessive debris and damaged or missing rubber baffles can cause the engine and hydraulic system to overheat.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN

Excessive debris around the engine cooling air intake and inside of the pump drive belt compartment can create a fire hazard.

HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD

Clean all debris from inside of pump drive belt compartment daily.

Information located:

On right fuel tank decal 103-4474.

On decal 1-633462 behind seat on rubber heat shield flap

a)Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and remove key.

b) Clean all debris from inside of pump drive belt compartment.

c)Wipe debris from screen in engine cover. Rotate engine cover forward and wipe debris from radiator core as required. Inspect seals in engine cover and replace as necessary.

5.1.5Clean grass build-up under deck.

Service Interval: Daily

a)Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and remove key.

b)Raise deck to the transport (5” (12.7 cm) cutting height) position. Lift the front of unit and support unit using jack stands or equivalent support.

CAUTION

POTENTIAL HAZARD

Raising the mower deck for service or maintenance relying solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks could be dangerous.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN

The mechanical or hydraulic jacks may not be enough support or may malfunction allowing the unit to fall, which could cause injury.

HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD

DO NOT rely solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks for support. Use adequate jack stands or equivalent support.

c)Clean out any grass build-up from underside of deck and in discharge chute.

5.1.6Check mower blades.

Service Interval: Daily

a)Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and remove key.

b)Lift deck and secure in raised position as stated in Section 5.1.5.
