Registerkarte „Einstellung“ (Settings). Klicken Sie anschließend auf ASCII-Konfiguration(ASCII Setup). Stellen Sie sicher, dass im Abschnitt Einstellungen für den ASCII-Versand(ASCII Sending) das Kontrollkästchen Gesendete Zeilen enden mit Zeilenvorschub (Send line ends with line feeds) aktiviert ist. Sie sollten HyperTerminal nicht auf diese Weise konfigurieren, wenn Sie ein Konsolenkabel für eine direkte Verbindung zum Switch verwenden.

1Um eine Telnet-Sitzung mit der Einheit zu starten, klicken in Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000/NT auf Start.

a Klicken Sie auf Ausführen (Run).

b Schreiben Sie in das nun angezeigte Dialogfeld die Standard-IP-Adresse der Einheit wie folgt: Telnet 169.254.100.100

c Klicken Sie auf OK.

2Drücken Sie die Eingabetaste (Enter), um eine Anmeldeaufforderung anzuzeigen.

Wenn die Anmeldeaufforderung nicht sofort angezeigt wird, drücken Sie mehrmals auf die Eingabetaste (Return).

3Geben Sie an der Eingabeaufforderung für den Benutzernamen und das Kennwort admin als Ihren Benutzernamen ein, und drücken Sie an der Eingabeaufforderung für das Kennwort die Eingabetaste (Return). Wenn Sie sich korrekt angemeldet haben, wird das erste Menü der Befehlszeilenschnittstelle angezeigt (siehe Beispiel in Abbildung 10).
