6Click OK to confirm the device removal.
You are prompted to restart the computer.
If you are physically removing the NIC from the computer, click No. Do not restart the
computer until you shut down the system, turn the power off, and remove the NIC from
the computer.
If you are reinstalling the NIC software, click Yes to restart the computer.
Removing 3Com DynamicAccess Advanced Server FeaturesFollow the steps in this section to remove 3Com DynamicAccess Advanced Server features
for your operating system.
Windows NT 4.0
To remove 3Com DynamicAccess Advanced Server features:
1From the Start menu, select Settings/Control Panel.
2Double-click the Network icon.
3In the Network window, click the Protocols tab.
4In the Protocols tab, select DA Pass Thru Driver Transport.
5Click Remove.
6Follow the prompts to remove the software and reboot the server.
Windows 2000
The Windows 2000 system does not allow you to uninstall the 3Com Advanced Server
technology miniport using the Device Manager. To remove 3Com DynamicAccess
Advanced Server features:
1Launch the Windows 2000 Network and Dial-up Connections window.
2Select a Local Area Connection icon.
3Click the right mouse button and select Properties from the menu. The Local Area
Connections Properties window appears.
4Click the General tab.
5In the General window, select DynamicAccess Protocol and click Uninstall.
NOTE: Note that removing the network driver does not result in the removal of
the diagnostics software. See “Removing the 3Com NIC Diagnostics Program”
on page 95.
