centerofthetemplatefromtheinsidethroughtotheoutside.
Thetemplatecannowbepositionedontheoutsidewallusing
thedrilledholeasacenteringpointforthetemplate.

Chiselanopeningapproximatelyonehalfinch(1.3cm)larger
thanthemarkedcircle.
B)WOODENSIDEWALLS
Drillapilotholeapproximatelyonequarterinch(0.64cm)outside
ofthemarkedcircle.Thispilotholeisusedasastartingpoint
forasaws-all orsabresaw blade.Cut aroundthemarked
circlestayingapproximatelyonequarterinch(0.64cm)outside
oftheline. (Thiswillallow thevent toeasilyslide through
theopening.The resulting gap will be covered up by the
VentTerminalcoverplate.)Repeatthissteponinsidewallif
necessary.

afterinstallation.Iftheventpipeisinstalleduptothewall,with
acouplingontheend againstthewallopening, thepipewith
theventterminal canbeprepared forgluing beforeinserting
throughthewall. Slide the pipe through the wall and insert
intothecouplingontheothersideofthewall,makingsurethat
theventterminalends uppointedinthe correctposition,see
Figure18A.

WHEN LOCATING THE TERMINALS ON A SIDEWALL, THE
FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS PERTAINING TO TERMINAL
LOCATION MUST BE FOLLOWED.
1.Theintakeairterminalandtheexhaustventterminalmustterminate
onthesameexterior wallandmustbe separatedbya minimumof
24”(61cm)onverticalcenterline(seeFigure18C).Incolderclimates
increasingthe24” (61cm) minimum will reduce possibility of frost
overfromsidewindsblowingexhaustvaporsto theairintakeofthe
direct vent.
2.Thehorizontalcenterlineoftheintakeairterminalmaynotbelocated
lowerthanthehorizontalcenterlineoftheexhaustventterminal(see
Figure18C).
