INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
1.Afterthe points of termination have been determined,
usethecover plates as templates to mark the holes for
theventpipesto beinsertedthrough thewall.BEWAREOF
CONCEALED WIRING AND PIPING INSIDE OF WALL. If the
ventterminalsarebeinginstalledonthe outsideofanished
wall,itmay be easier to mark both the inside and outside
wall.Aligntheholesbydrillingaholethroughthecenterofthe
templatefromtheinsidethroughtotheoutside.The template
cannowbepositionedontheoutsidewallusingthedrilledholes
asacenteringpointforthetemplate.
A.) MASONRY SIDE WALLS Chisel an opening approximately
1/2”(1.3cm)largerthanthemarkedcircle.
B.) WOODENSIDEWALLSDrillapilotholeapproximately
onequarterinch outside of the marked circle. This
pilothole is used as a starting point for a saws-all or
sabresawblade.Cutaround themarkedcirclestaying
approximatelyonequarter inch outside of the line.
(Thiswill allow the vent pipe to easily slide through
theopening. The resulting gap will be covered by the
ventterminal coverplates.) Repeat this step on the
inside wall if necessary.
2. Cutalengthof3”PVCpipeabout3.5”(8.9cm)longerthanthe
wallthicknessattheopening.
3. Gluetheintakeventterminaltothesectionofthepipe.
4. Slidethewallplateoverpipetostopagainstintakeventterminal.
5. Placeabeadofcaulking(notsupplied)aroundthegapbetween
thepipeand the wall. Place some of the caulking on the
backoftheplatetoholditagainstthewallafterinstallation.
6.Iftheventpipeisinstalleduptothewall,withacouplingonthe
endagainstthewallopening,thepipewiththeventterminalcan
bepreparedforgluingbeforeinsertingthroughthewall.Slidethe
pipethroughthewallandinsertintocouplingontheothersideof
thewall,makingsurethattheventterminalendsuppointedinthe
correctposition(Figure19).

1. Propersupportmustbeprovidedforallpipeprotrudingthrough
the roof.
2. Theverticalroofterminationsshouldbesealedwithaplumbing
roofbootorequivalentashing.
3. Theintakeventterminationandtheexhaustventterminationmust
penetratethesamesideofroof.
4.Thecenterlineoftheintakeventterminationandthecenter
lineofthe exhaust vent termination must be no closer
than24”(61cm).
5.Theintakeventterminalandtheexhaustventterminalmustbe
orientedfacingdownwardandthesamedirection.
