Troubleshooting

Poor video quality with smearing, fuzziness or ripple

• Use coaxial video cables to connect your devices to the SmartView World.

Remote console doesn’t switch to new ports when they are selected

The KVM section Hotkeys may have been changed but not similarly updated within the IP section.

When power switching, the selected computer does not power on or off

Check the power switch port(s) to which the computer is connected. Check the indicator status for that/those ports on the power switch front panel

- do they illuminate/extinguish when the switching command is sent?

If a multi-feed server is attached to more than one power port, check that all of the power inputs are connected to ports and that all those ports are being switched.

Local and remote mouse pointers won’t synchronise when using the IP connection

Ensure that mouse acceleration is switched off on the target computer. If necessary, activate the OSD menu to deliberately de-synchronise the mice so that the remote mouse can be “nudged” to the mouse properties menu to make the necessary mouse acceleration changes.
