LOADING AN APPLICATION IMAGE USING XMODEM
Introduction
The NetVanta 3000 Series Routers contains 7MB of flash memory to allow multiple copies of both configuration files and application images to be maintained locally on the router for future use. In addition, the NetVanta 3000 Series Routers provide capability to upload and activate application image files from an external source using XMODEM. This DLP provides the instructions for uploading a stored application image for use as the startup image. Application images may be obtained from the ADTRAN website at http://support.adtran.com.
Prerequisite Procedures
Before beginning this procedure, communication to the unit via the console port must be established.
Tools and Materials Required
•Computer with terminal emulation software that contains XMODEM capability
•Appropriate cable to connect terminal to the Console port
To prevent electrical shock, do not install equipment in a wet location or during a lightning storm.
ADTRAN suggests that a backup of the current configuration and the current application image be maintained in flash at all times.
