Optional Equipment

Acceptable Originals

•Use sheet originals only

•Paper weight: 50 to 120 g/m²

•Paper sizes: 8 1/2 × 14"/Legal and Folio (Maximum), 5 1/2 × 8 1/2"/Statement and A5R (Minimum)

•Maximum number which can be set at one time: 50 sheets (50 to 80 g/m²)

Originals to Avoid

Be sure not to use the following as originals in the document processor.

•Originals with punched holes or perforations.

•Transparencies.

•Soft originals such as carbon or vinyl paper, or other originals that are curled, wrinkled or creased.

•Irregularly shaped originals, wet originals, or originals that have adhesive tape or glue on them.

•Originals bound with clips or staples. (If you must use such originals, be sure to remove the clips or staples, and straighten any curls, wrinkles or creases, before setting them in the document processor. Failure to do so may result in the originals being jammed.)

•Originals with cut-out sections or that have a slippery surface on either side.

•Originals on which any correction fluid is still wet.

•Originals with strong folds. (If you must use such originals, be sure to smooth out the folds before setting them in the document processor. Failure to do so may result in the originals being jammed.)

Names of Parts

1Left Cover — Open this cover if an original jam occurs.

2Original Insert Guides — Align these guides to fit the width of the originals to be copied.

3Original Table — Set originals to be copied on this table.

4Original Eject Table — Originals that have been copied are ejected and stored here.

5Ejection Extension — Open this extension when using larger sized originals such as

8 1/2 × 13"/Oficio II, 8 1/2 × 14"/Legal and Folio.
