Congratulations on purchasing your new iMac.

This chapter contains instructions for setting up your computer.

Your iMac has been designed so that you can set it up quickly and start using it right away. If you have never used an iMac or are new to Macintosh computers, read this section for instructions on getting started.

Important: Read all of the installation instructions and safety information (see page 79) before you plug your computer into a wall socket.

If you are an experienced user, you may already know enough to get started. Make sure you look over the information in Chapter 2, ÒGetting to Know Your iMac,Ó to find out about the new features of this iMac.

Before you set up your iMac, remove any protective film from the outside of your computer.
