For your safety and the safety of your equipment, follow the rules in this appendix for cleaning and handling your iMac, as well as the guidelines for working more comfortably.

Apple products are designed and evaluated to the latest information technology and audio video equipment safety standards. However, itÕs important to follow the safety instructions on the product and in the documentation.

Safety Instructions for Setting Up and Using Your iMac

For your own safety and that of your equipment, always take the following precautions. Keep these instructions handy for reference by you and others.

åSet up your computer on a stable work surface.

åKeep your computer away from sources of liquids, such as drinks, washbasins, bathtubs, shower stalls, and so on.

åProtect your computer from dampness or wet weather, such as rain, snow, and so on.

åThe only way to disconnect power completely is to unplug the power cord. Always disconnect power before opening the computer to install memory.

åDisconnect the power plug (by pulling the plug, not the cord) and disconnect the phone cord if any of the following conditions exists:
