Lock iPhone

Press the On/Off Sleep/Wake button.

 

 

Unlock iPhone

Press the Home button or the On/Off

 

Sleep/Wake button, then drag the slider.

 

 

Turn iPhone completely off

Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button for

 

a few seconds until the red slider appears, then

 

drag the slider. When iPhone is off, incoming calls

 

go straight to voicemail.

 

 

Turn iPhone on

Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button

 

until the Apple logo appears.

Home Button

Press the Home button at any time to go to the Home screen, which contains your iPhone apps. Tap any app icon to get started. To see apps you’ve recently used, double- click the Home button. See “Opening and Switching Apps” on page 29.

Volume Buttons

When you’re on the phone or listening to songs, movies, or other media, the buttons on the side of iPhone adjust the audio volume. Otherwise, the buttons control the volume for the ringer, alerts, and other sound effects.
