Quickly adjust CPU frequency multiples with BIOS in JumperFreeMode

Stepless Frequency Selection (SFS) for fine-tuning system bus frequency

from at 1MHz increments (See page 66.)

Adjustable FSB/AGP/PCI frequency ratio and Clock Multiplier (See page 23, 24 and 66.)

• Adjustable Vcore Voltage (See page 27 and 66.)

Temperature, Fan and Voltage Monitoring: ASUS ASIC and the CPU’s internal thermal diode monitors temperature to prevent overheating. System fans are monitored for RPM and failure. Voltage is monitored to ensure stable current to critical motherboard components.

ACPI Ready: Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) provides more Energy Saving Features to boost OS Direct Power Management.

USB2.0: The latest connection standard for next generation components and peripherals. Compatible with 1.1 USB, the new 2.0 USB protocol delivers transfer speeds up to 40 times faster at 480Mb/s. (See page 39.)

Digital Audio: On audio models, a digital audio controller and a special connector is available to accommodate the S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Output module -- optionally bundled) for coaxial interfaces. (See page 44.)

Onboard Audio (optional): Audio models come with the six-channel C-Media CMI8738 PCI audio controller that supplies HRTF 3D positional audio functions. A software package helps setup the multi-channel PC sound system. (See page 100.)

Dual function power switch

While the system is ON, pressing the power switch for less than 4 seconds puts the system to sleep mode or to soft-off mode, depending on the BIOS setting. Pressing the power switch for more than 4 seconds lets the system enter the soft-off mode regardless of the BIOS setting.

Auto fan off

The system fans power off automatically when the system is in sleep mode. This feature reduces both power consumption and system noise.

Chassis intrusion detection

The motherboard supports chassis intrusion monitoring through the ASUS ASIC. A chassis intrusion event is retained in the system memory for more protection. (See page 40.)
