AP Modes

Access Point Only

The ASUS Pocket Wireless AP is set to Access Point Only mode by default. In this mode, the device only performs as an AP that connects wireless clients to a wired Ethernet network. The picture below illustrates the device in Access Point Only mode.

When set to Hybrid-Active mode, the ASUS Pocket Wireless AP actively connects to all APs specified in the MAC address list upon startup to form a wireless bridge while maintaining connection with the wireless clients in its own network. The MAC address list is enabled when the AP mode is set to Hybrid-Active.

Hybrid-Passive

The ASUS Pocket Wireless AP performs the same function in Hybrid-Passive mode. However, in this mode, the device waits for anonymous connection requests from other APs to form a wireless bridge. The MAC address list is disabled when you select this mode.
