Before You Install

NOTE: To use this product as a two-line phone, you must have a two-line modular jack or two separate one-line modular jacks. To use both lines of a two-line telephone, your local telephone company must provide two telephone numbers.

Batteries

Before using the telephone, you should install four

AAbatteries (not included). If you are connecting only Line 1 or only Line 2, use two batteries, as indicated on the bottom of the phone. If you are connecting both lines, use four batteries.

You can use the phone without batteries to dial and receive calls using the handset, but it requires batteries to power the Line Status lights, the headset, and the Auto Redial feature.

1Turn the telephone upside down (Figure 1).

2Remove the base by pressing the tabs located on the top of the base.

3Press down on the tab located between the arrows on battery cover (Figure 2). Remove the battery cover and insert new AA batteries, not included (Figure 3).

4Replace the battery cover.

CAUTION: Always unplug the line cord before installing new AA batteries.
